Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your driver or safari guide, who will help you with your luggage and transfer you to your booked safari lodge in Nyungwe Forest while briefing you on the safari on the way. Upon your arrival, you will check into your safari lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: F/B.

Day 2: Bird watching with a nature walk in Nyungwe Forest
Wake up to a delicious early morning breakfast, and after setting out into Nyungwe Forest (with your packed lunch) to begin your bird-watching adventure, your guide will help you identify different birds in the thick canopies. What’s even more exciting is the high chance of encountering different monkey species while on the lookout for birds. It will be a full-day birding experience, and therefore it is very vital that you carry lots of drinking water to stay hydrated throughout the day. Day 3: chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After your breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a short briefing before you begin the chimpanzee tracking. Return from your chimpanzee tracking adventure to a warm lunch, check out of the safari lodge, and transfer to Volcanoes National Park, home of the mountain gorillas. Day 4: Mountain Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, set out to Kinigi headquarters with your packed lunch for a briefing that will usher you into the gorilla tracking activity. Day 5: Golden monkey tracking with a visit to Dian Fossey
Your day will begin with an adventurous golden monkey trekking adventure after your breakfast. Return to the lodge for lunch and set out to visit Dian Fossey’s grave. You will hike at Karisoke Research Center and explore further the life of Dian Fossey and learn about her effort to conserve these beautiful creatures and the legacy she left behind.
